Day to day Itinerary

DAY 1 : MALIAU BASIN – STUDY CENTRE (L,D)
0700 hrs : Depart from hotel to Keningau that takes about 2 hours to scenic Crocker Range,
1100 hrs : Reach at the Security Gate of Maliau Basin Conservation Area (MBCA). Proceed to the Maliau Basin Study centre for another hour where you will stay overnight.
1200 hrs : Have your lunch after arrival and enjoy the scenic view of nature and see the unique diverse environment which Maliau Basin has to offer. After dinner, enjoy a night walk in search of nocturnal animal near the Study Centre (subject to weather condition).

Activity : Night Walk or Night Drive (Depends on weather condition)

DAY 2 :TREK TO CAMEL TROPHY CAMP (B,L,D)
0700hrs : After breakfast, begin trekking through the rainforest for 7.5 km trail to Camel Trophy Camp (Nepenthes Camp). Have some refreshment provided at the camp
1400hrs : Proceeding for another 3 km trekking to Takob-Akob Falls and Giluk Falls. Relax and swim at the waterfall (subject to time and weather condition) before returning to Camel Trophy Camp for overnight stay.

DAY 3 :TREK TO GINSENG CAMP (B,L,D)
0700hrs : Have an early wakeup call and have breakfast to proceed for Agathis camp that will take you about an hour drive. 0900hrs : Trek along the lowland dipterocarp forests for about 5 – 6 hours to Ginseng Camp. You will be trekking with a nature guide and stopping by for a quick lunch. The trek is approximately 6.7 km.
1500hrs : Discover the abundance of nepenthes plants along the way and arrive at Ginseng Campsite. Relax and swim in the nearby waterfall (subject to time and weather condition) and immerse yourself to the sound of the wilderness. Overnight at Ginseng Camp.

DAY 4 :TREK TO WATER FALL – TREK  (B,L,D)
0700hrs : Experience the morning call from the biodiversity of the area and have breakfast.
0800hrs : Ready to resume trekking to the spectacular seven tier Maliau Falls and enjoy a refreshing swim and have lunch. 1400 hrs : Trek back to Ginseng Campsite for overnight stay. The trek will be 4.8 km each way.

DAY 5 : GINSENG CAMP – MALIAU STUDY CENTRE – KOTA KINABALU (B,L,D)
0700hrs : After breakfast, leave Ginseng Campsite for the 9 km trek to Agathis Camp. Pack up before transfer to Maliau Study Centre for Keningau, en route to Kota Kinabalu.

Long trekking pants, Leech socks, Rain cover, Insect repellent, Walking stick, Head lamp, Sandals, Personal toiletries, Water tight proof bags, Swim wear, Trekking shoes, Chocolate.
